Finally!  we have officially closed the books on the 2023 Anthony Joseph Hollyoak Memorial Golf Tournament and what a year it was. 

Our Thank You letter has become a bit of a Newsletter, largely because there are so many wonderful things we want to share with everyone that participated in the 2nd Annual AJH Tournament. In a year of economic challenges, food and employment insecurity, we were incredibly grateful for the level of support we received.  We will never take for granted the contribution that every single person makes to this tournament – financial, products, resources or time.  
We went in to this year’s tournament challenging ourselves to be as efficient as possible to maximize the donations made on the tournament’s behalf.  Working with the Briars Golf Course in the months leading up to the tournament and the event itself, could not have been smoother.  The decision to host the entire event in one location was a success.  Mother Nature also played her part and provided us with beautiful weather.
As we shared during the speeches at dinner, Pancreatic Cancer Canada has been an incredible organization to partner with. Their staff continuously went above and beyond all year helping us plan and host this golf tournament.  They provided hands on expertise with setting up the new online registration and worked closely with us on our first online Silent Auction.    Hosting a sell out event with 144 golfers and an additional 56 dinner guests is something we are very proud of.  To have a group of friends and family spend an entire day together in honour of Anthony is humbling and keeps his memory alive.    

The AJH Golf Committee and The Hollyoak Family continue to work with Gift Funds Canada for the administration and disbursement of the proceeds from the golf tournament. 

We are proud to share the following donations were made as a result of the tournament:

Pancreatic Cancer Canada $50,000
Briars Golf Club – Juniors Program $10,000
Briars Golf Club – Tree Legacy Fund $4,000
An additional $6,860 was donated directly to Pancreatic Cancer Canada through Anthony’s online link.
